Come Play at KSU

The ⴫ý State Department of Athletics sponsors 18 NCAA Division I programs, with 17 of those competing in the ASUN Conference. KSU will become a member of Conference USA and the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) starting July 1, 2024.

⴫ý State has achieved a “Gold Standard” of success. KSU football is the winningest startup program in college football history along with three conference titles and four NCAA Playoff appearances. In 2023, men’s basketball won its first ASUN championship and showcased its talents nationwide in March Madness. KSU has won two individual national championships with Daniel Haugh’s 2019 hammer throw and Isaiah Rogers’ 2023 weight throw gold medals.

In total, KSU has won 58 conference crowns at the Division 1 level, and its competition cheerleading squad has garnered eight national championships.

Department of Sports & Recreation

Department of Sports and Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Affairs.  Our mission is to foster the holistic development of KSU students’ physical, social, and leadership development through sport and recreational activities within a fun and supportive environment.  We embrace the opportunity to provide programs and services that encourage students to develop or enhance a healthy lifestyle.  We also strive to provide a range of activity choices on the ⴫ý campus and the Marietta campus.

Fifth Third Stadium

Fifth Third Stadium opened in 2010 as part of Phase II of the KSU Sports + Entertainment Park. Through an innovative partnership with KSU Athletics and Fifth Third Bank, they became the official bank, and the Stadium was renamed Fifth Third Bank Stadium in 2013. The Stadium is the home of the ⴫ý State Owls (soccer, lacrosse and football) and Atlanta United 2 (professional soccer)

KSU Sports and Recreation boasts having one of the finest recreation complexes available to students anywhere in the Southeast. Six synthetic fields are available 7 days a week for Intramural / Club sports or student programming. Open recreation space, walking trails and sand volleyball are also part of the offerings for our students all set with ⴫ý Mountain as the backdrop of this immaculate and impressive facility.
